My approaches

I help people build resilience and meaning using philosophy, proven therapeutic tools, and the clarity that comes from moving through the world rather than sitting still in it.

Approach

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, evidence-based therapy developed by Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s, originally for treating trauma and PTSD, though it's since been used for anxiety, grief, and other distressing memories.

Think of the brain a bit like a computer. Traumatic events can sometimes get installed like corrupted files, stored in a way that keeps glitching, replaying, and interrupting how the rest of the system runs. Through bilateral stimulation sets — rhythmic, alternating left-to-right sensory inputs, such as eye movements and taps — EMDR helps the brain uninstall that corrupted file and reinstall it in a healthier, more adaptive way. The memory is still there, but it no longer crashes the system every time it comes up.

EMDR work can be life-changing, and I feel a practical obligation to reach as many people as I can. I'm privileged to be able to guide people through reprocessing their traumas and negative beliefs, and am in awe as I witness this happen in real time.

Approach

Stoicism

At its core, the philosophy of Stoicism is recognizing what's within our control and what isn't, and focusing your energy on what you can. A great deal of suffering comes from dwelling on external factors outside our control. However, if you can take tangible steps to change the aspects you don’t like about something or yourself, then take those steps.

Approach

Logotherapy

One of my favourite principle of Logotherapy is the realization that there is one thing we can always control: how we choose to respond to any given circumstance. It’s about changing our outlooks in life — and doing so can be freeing.

Approach

DBT

Do you like homework? Dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based, structured therapy that helps people manage intense emotions, accept reality, and switch unhelpful thinking into adaptive thinking. DBT methods contain dozens of skills and techniques, so finding the ones that resonates with you requires learning and practicing them in between sessions.
