Katherine Esposito MSW, RSW, EMDR-Trained Therapist
This work found me before I chose it. Before I was a social worker, I had one of my own, after growing up around mental illness and addiction. I lost both parents to it, and spent years on that same path myself before doing the work to change course. None of this makes me an expert on your story. Everyone's walk is their own. But it's important for you to know that I've done my own version of this work, slowly and imperfectly, and built a life out of it. I understand what it takes to change, and what's waiting for you when you do.
I'm registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW #859640) and hold a master's in social work (MSW) from the University of Illinois Chicago's Jane Addams School of Social Work.
Ten fun facts about me:
1. My sense of humour leans towards the demented side.
2. I’m empathic. I feel things deeply and pick up on stimuli around me.
3. I didn’t meet the love of my life — my husband — until I was 38.
4. We have a blended family of four cats.
5. We adore travelling, and my favourite adventure so far was exploring the Amazon Rainforest.
6. My favourite musician is Helena Deland.
7. My favourite weather is 18C and drizzly.
8. I’m a Gemini sun, Pisces rising, and Sagittarius moon.
9. I studied environmental science and was originally going into the ecology field.
10. I enjoy wildlife photography and shoot photos in my spare time.
Another fun fact is that I don’t like writing bios.
